About the role

We are looking for a Pipework's Leading Hand to join the team. As a Leading Hand you will be responsible for the completion of the project on or under time, whilst ensuring a safe site is maintained and a quality product is constructed for delivery to the client. Projects will include minor civil infrastructure works and urban development projects. 

Duties

  • Thorough understanding of OHS and environmental requirements
  • Arrangement of Plant, Labour and material resources for project
  • Direction and monitoring of Sub-Contractors, Suppliers and plant hirers
  • Control of survey requirements
  • Daily monitoring of activity costs
  • Monitor compliance with safety and environmental requirements
  • Maintain compliance with construction program
  • Report all non-conformances and assist recommendations for remedial work
  • Maintain daily record of site activities
  • Ensure clients quality expectations are being met / exceeded (in accordance with spec)

Skills and qualifications

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction 
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the drawings, specifications and quality requirements for all site related activities
  • Must have experience in minor civil infrastructure works and or urban development projects
  • Strong sense of teamwork
  • Proven ability to constantly deliver high quality construction projects within budget and program constraints
  • Have experience in shoring
  • Pipelaying experience is highly regarded.
