About the Role

As part of our Queensland pre-contracts team, you’ll prepare accurate, competitive and innovative tenders that reflect BMD’s construction methodologies and market competitiveness. Working closely with senior leaders and project delivery teams, you’ll be instrumental in shaping our project pipeline and ensuring successful transitions from bid to delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate tenders aligned with project scope, methodology and contract requirements
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Build cost estimates including direct costs, overheads and program allowances
• Identify and assess project risks and opportunities
• Liaise with Construction Managers and Engineers to refine methodologies
• Contribute to tender reviews, handovers and post-tender negotiations
• Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers

About you:
You’re a driven and detail-oriented Estimator with civil construction experience—ideally gained on roads, bridges, utilities or infrastructure projects. You enjoy collaborating across disciplines, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are passionate about contributing to a family-owned business that values its people.

What you’ll bring:

• Proven estimating experience within a civil construction contractor environment
• Knowledge of tender preparation, cost build-up, and subcontractor engagement
• Strong commercial acumen and communication skills
• A team-first mindset and commitment to quality and accuracy
