About the Role

You’ll take ownership of complex tenders, ensuring submissions are accurate, competitive and aligned with BMD’s methodology and values. Working alongside the Chief Estimator, construction teams and senior leaders, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing major infrastructure projects across road, bridge, and utilities sectors. 

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and review of tender documentation and pricing submissions
• Identify and assess project risks, opportunities and market competitiveness
• Source and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Develop build-ups of direct and indirect costs using Expert Estimation software
• Coordinate site visits, pre-tender meetings, and stakeholder engagement
• Manage post-tender negotiations and handovers to project delivery teams
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement in estimating practices
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors

About you:

You’re an experienced Estimator ready to take the next step, or a proven Senior Estimator looking for a new challenge with a Tier 1 civil contractor. You’ll bring strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset that aligns with BMD’s family values.

What you’ll bring:

• Demonstrated experience leading tender preparation within the civil construction sector (Transport, Defence, Renewable projects) 8+ Years Exp
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Expert Estimation with strong cost analysis and breakdown capabilities
• Deep understanding of contract terms, risk assessment, and market pricing strategies
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to mentor and support junior estimators while driving team performance
• Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple concurrent tenders in a dynamic environment
