Role Description
This is a full-time site-based role for a Sub Agent based in Bridgwater, Somerset. The Sub Agent will manage and mentor a team of Site and Section engineers, and assist the Agent in delivering all construction operations and technical compliance of the project in order to fulfil the assigned project safely, on time and to the required quality.

Note that shift patterns are required for this role in a 10 on, 4 off pattern, working hours 12 noon to 22:30.

Daily tasks include:

  • Regular communication and reporting to multiple stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of projects, including management of subcontractors and liaising with Client representatives.
  • Assist with the construction strategy, including kick-off meetings, pre-commencement documentation such as Method Statements, Environmental and Quality Plans, Construction programmes, procurement, change management and design deliverable schedules.
  • Allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works to carry out activities to the required standards, programme and budget.
  • Assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and budget forecast.
  • Identify and resolve technical problems arising from technical site issues.
  • Conduct site evaluations, develop Health & Safety and Quality documentation, provide technical expertise, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Responsible for the Quality deliverables of the package of works.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential 

  • Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in a Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of construction and engineering experience, including reinforced concrete
  • IT skills including MS Office and planning software (P6, Aphex, MS Project)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Problem-Solving and Decision-Making skills
  • Excellent understanding of CDM regulations and site safety standards
  • Due to the nature of the work and location, a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary.

 Desirable

  • CSCS, SMSTS, TWS or TWC
  • BIM / Digital including AutoCAD 3D
  • Working experience of NEC contracts, planning, cost control and supply chain
