About the role

As a Planner, you will play a key role in the delivery of the Gateway to Bruce Upgrade located on the northern suburbs of Brisbane. Working closely with construction, engineering and commercial teams, you will help shape methodology, sequencing and delivery strategies that drive safe, efficient and successful outcomes.
This role suits an experienced site engineer transitioning into planning, or an established planner with a strong understanding of civil construction and delivery risk.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development, review and optimisation of detailed construction programs for major civil projects
  • Provide expert programming and sequencing advice to project, engineering and commercial teams
  • Review tender and contract documentation to identify scope, risk, staging and timing impacts
  • Develop fully resourced and cost‑loaded schedules aligned with construction methodology
  • Support tender submissions, post‑tender negotiations and seamless project handovers
  • Monitor and analyse project progress, reporting against key milestones, KPIs and earned value
  • Identify and proactively manage program risks, opportunities and mitigation strategies
  • Support delay analysis, EOT assessments and contractual claims where required
  • Interface closely with site teams to validate progress, productivity and forecast completion
  • Mentor and support engineers and project teams in planning best practice and systems
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of planning tools, systems and industry best practice

About you

You will ideally have:

  • A Civil Engineering degree (highly regarded)
  • Proven experience transitioning from a site‑based engineering role into planning
  • Strong background delivering civil construction works on major infrastructure projects
  • In‑depth understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and delivery risk
  • Solid knowledge of contract requirements, program analysis and claims principles
  • Advanced proficiency in industry planning software and scheduling tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across complex, live project environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site, commercial and client stakeholders
  • A collaborative, proactive approach with a strong focus on constructability and outcomes
