Job Purpose / Overview

The Planner will support the CWA Enabling and Earthworks Geotechnical Section Planning Lead and the Section Lead.

This role will provide a key link between the supply chain delivering the works, the requirements of the PAA programme, the CWA team managing the works and the PMO.

Background

Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.

The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies.

They are more than just an alliance, they are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.

Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions

  • Assist with the development of the delivery programme. Including close working and co-ordination with Senior Planner, delivery teams, supply chain to build up the optimum methodology, sequence, timing, production & resource
  • Assist with programme updates with respect to performance during the construction period
  • Recommend mitigation measures on areas of forecast critical programme slippage

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree, HND or similar equivalent in a civil engineering or geotechnical subject is desirable
  • Experience of planning services within large complex environments within the construction industry
  • Good experience in scheduling tools and software like Primavera P6, MS Project or ASTA
  • Understanding of the methods of construction, incl. plant, equipment, and labour requirements
  • Relevant CSCS Card
