About the role:

As a Senior Civil Design Engineer based in our Manly office on the bayside of Brisbane, you will provide advice and service, including design review and verification, project planning and management to clients as per their project requirements.

This role will be responsible for the delivery of subdivisions, land development, renewal energy and other civil infrastructure works such as including earthworks, roads, drainage and stormwater, sewer, and water infrastructure.

Key accountabilities:

  • To liaise with clients to accept and assess their requirements and ensure these requirements are met within the required performance requirements
  • Scope, Review and Certify Completed Design and Documentation
  • To effectively and efficiently undertake engineering design in a computer aided design environment.
  • To supervise designers and draftspersons and cad operators in the documentation of completed engineering designs. 
  • Proactive communication with External Consultants (architects, quantity surveyors, hydraulic engineers, surveyors, planners etc), to Ensure the Smooth Incorporation of Any Required External Inputs into Company Designs
  • To ensure that proper design (and drafting standards) are set and maintained.
  • To undertake site construction monitoring and contract administration (where required) for any development projects. Included in these activities shall be inspection and testing and local authority certification of constructed field works; assessment of variations to contracts.
  • Conduct site visits and investigations of potential development sites.
  • Provision of design, engineering analysis, detailing of structures and preparation of construction specifications, technical reports and “as constructed” information.

About you:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, suitable for admission for full membership with Engineers Australia
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
  • Minimum of 5 years industry relevant experience
  • High level ability to understand complex engineering challenges and develop multiple solutions with considerations and assessment of the risk and opportunity of solutions developed.
  • Ability to plan, manage and support numerous complex projects with many participants and stakeholders.
  • Detailed knowledge of own job processes as well as the work processes / tasks of all others within the business group.
  • Happy to work in a Design and Construct environment. 
  • Lateral thinker who can adapt on the run and ‘engineer’ out solutions in a collaborative environment
  • Good communicator with the ability to craft and deliver a solid and compelling technical argument to clients
