About BMD

BMD is Australia's leading integrated engineering, construction and urban development business. As the largest privately owned civil contractor in Australia, BMD is at the forefront of excellence.

Over a 45-year history, BMD has grown to become a $2 billion operation, now sharing our expertise internationally in the Philippines and the UK.

About the Project
The Tram to Springvale Alliance (TSA), made up of BMD Constructions, CPB Contractors and Arup, is delivering the Eastern Freeway Upgrades between Tram and Springvale roads. The works include new express lanes, upgraded noise walls, and revitalised areas of the Koonung Creek Linear Park.

The project is being delivered under an Alliance Contract with Major Roads Projects Victoria (MRPV), forming a single, collaborative team.

As part of the North East Link Program (NELP), the upgrade will improve safety and efficiency for over 135,000 daily vehicles, remove 15,000 trucks from local roads, and reduce traffic across the Yarra River by 50,000 vehicles per day.

We’re completing the link together and bringing it home for our community.

The Role

As the Quality Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the project meets all contractual, legislative and industry quality standards across complex civil and road construction works. Working closely with engineers, site supervisors and subcontractors, you’ll champion best practice processes and help drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor and maintain project Quality Management Plans in line with project requirements
  • Review and verify ITPs, inspection records and test documentation
  • Conduct quality inspections, NCR management and close‑out
  • Lead and support audits—internal, client and third‑party
  • Assist delivery teams with quality procedures, standards and compliance expectations
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and ensure readiness for handover
  • Drive quality improvements through coaching, training and proactive site engagement

About You

We’re looking for a Quality professional who thrives in a fast‑paced civil construction environment and enjoys being hands‑on in the field.

You will bring:

  • Experience in quality roles on civil infrastructure, road upgrades, earthworks, structures, or similar large‑scale projects
  • Strong understanding of ITPs, NCR processes, material testing requirements and quality compliance systems
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with delivery teams, subcontractors and clients
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and influence positive outcomes
  • Relevant tertiary or vocational qualifications in engineering, quality, or construction (preferred)
