Who we’re looking for:

We are currently seeking experienced Leading Hand/Sub Foremen with a strong civil construction background to join our team on a major road infrastructure project in Darwin.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on civil professional who enjoys leading crews from the front, coordinating daily activities on site and working closely with Foremen, Engineers and subcontractors to safely deliver quality outcomes.

You will play a key role in driving productivity, maintaining high safety standards and ensuring works are delivered to program across multiple work fronts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise site crews across daily civil construction activities
• Coordinate plant, labour and subcontractors to deliver works efficiently
• Ensure works are carried out safely, in accordance with SWMS, ITPs and project requirements
• Actively contribute to pre‑starts, toolbox talks and on‑site planning
• Monitor quality and productivity, addressing issues proactively
• Work closely with site supervision to meet program and production targets
• Lead by example, fostering a positive, safety‑focused and high‑performance culture

You will bring solid on‑site experience and the confidence to lead crews on complex civil projects. Ideally, you will have experience across one or more of the following:

• Pipework and drainage
• Bulk earthworks
• Pavements and road construction
• Subdivisions and civil infrastructure works

In addition, you will demonstrate:

• A strong civil construction background with proven Leading Hand or Sub Foreman experience
• Practical leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage crews
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach on site
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and subcontractors
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and productivity
