About the Project:

Clough Projects and BMD Construction (CBJV) have joined together to deliver the Darwin Ship Lift Facility for the Northern Territory Government. This facility will be the largest ship lift in Northern Australia, serving the maintenance needs of the Department of Defence, Australian Border Force, and the maritime sector, while supporting local jobs and economic growth.

Who we are looking for:

CBJV is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic preferably with electrical and hydraulic experience to join our project team.

About the Role

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a range of heavy plant and construction equipment used across the project. A strong understanding of electrical & hydraulic operations and diagnostic skills would be advantageous to ensure optimal performance and reliability of machinery on site. This is a site-based role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of all site-based & marine plant & equipment on the project
  • Carry out fault finding diagnostics on mechanical, electrical & hydraulic systems, where applicable on plant and equipment that is used on the project.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance on all mobile plant and machinery.
  • Ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently on site
  • Maintaining service records and reporting equipment issues
  • Support other site teams within the project, where necessary.

About You

  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
  • Experience working with hydraulics and electrical systems
  • Experience maintaining heavy plant and construction equipment
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Construction White/Blue Card
  • Strong safety focus and commitment to safe work practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team

Desirable

  • HR Licence
  • Forklift Licence
  • EWP and Working at Heights tickets
  • Experience working on major infrastructure or construction projects
