The Role

Due to sustained growth in South Australia, we are seeking an experienced Project Director or Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of significant civil infrastructure projects across the state.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of one or more major projects, providing strong commercial, safety and operational leadership from tender phase through to project completion. You will play a pivotal role in developing high‑performing teams, fostering strong client relationships and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a motivated professional ready to make a genuine impact and contribute to the long‑term growth of BMD in South Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end leadership of complex civil construction projects
• Champion Zero Harm, ensuring strong safety and environmental performance across all sites
• Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers and project teams to achieve outstanding results
• Manage project commercial performance, including budgets, forecasting, claims and cash flow
• Drive program delivery, risk management and quality outcomes
• Build and maintain strong client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships
• Contribute to tenders, pre‑contracts and strategic planning activities
• Promote and embed The BMD Way and BMD’s Business Management Systems

About You

• Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager in civil infrastructure
• Strong background delivering projects such as roads, bridges, bulk earthworks, utilities or major infrastructure
• Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to build engaged, high‑performing teams
• Highly developed commercial acumen and contract management experience
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental excellence
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management or similar
