About the role

BMD Constructions is looking for a proactive and motivated Safety Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting project teams to maintain safe, compliant, and high-quality work environments across our sites.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in real projects, working closely with site and project teams to embed strong safety practices. You’ll gain hands-on experience, build your knowledge of safety systems, and contribute to creating a positive and safe workplace culture.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of safety, environmental and quality systems across project sites
  • Work closely with project and construction teams to provide guidance on safety requirements and best practices
  • Act as a key point of contact for safety, environmental and quality matters on site
  • Conduct site audits and inspections, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in analysing audit findings and supporting system improvements
  • Prepare reports and documentation for project teams and senior management
  • Support the delivery of safety training and education initiatives
  • Assist in preparing work method statements, project plans, and inspection and test plans
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of safety systems and processes

 

About you

  • Experience or interest in safety, environmental or quality within construction or a similar industry
  • Relevant qualification in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or working towards)
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with site-based teams
  • Ability to build relationships and influence positive safety behaviours
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and get involved on site
  • Understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements (desirable)
  • Flexibility to travel to project sites as required
