About the Role

As the Construction Manager, you will hold senior leadership responsibility for establishing, growing, and leading BMD’s water business across Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

This role is responsible for business unit performance across safety, commercial outcomes, delivery capability, culture and client relationships, aligned to BMD Group standards, financial objectives and regulatory requirements.

You will play a critical role in expanding BMD’s footprint in the Victorian water infrastructure market, delivering sustainable, repeatable and profitable outcomes for key water authority clients.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery across multiple water projects
• Drive profitability, cash flow, claims and commercial outcomes
• Lead Project Managers, Superintendents and delivery teams
• Manage head contracts, subcontracts and supplier agreements  
• Build self‑perform capability and delivery depth
• Provide visible Zero Harm leadership and ensure OHS & environmental compliance
• Build a high‑performing, values‑driven leadership team
• Support tenders, market growth and client relationships
• Strengthen partnerships with Melbourne Water and Victorian authorities

The successful candidate will be a self‑starter with:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Senior construction or operations leadership experience with a tier 1 or tier 2 contractor
• Strong delivery background in water infrastructure, ideally with Melbourne Water or Victorian authorities
• Proven experience managing multiple projects or portfolios with full commercial accountability
• Strong commercial acumen across cost control, claims and cash flow
• A visible, values‑led leadership style aligned to Zero Harm
• Excellent stakeholder management and team‑building capability
