About the Role

BMD is seeking an Electrical Site Engineer to join our team delivering the Palmer Wind Farm, located approximately 70km east of Adelaide. This major renewable energy project will generate up to 288MW of clean energy—enough to power more than 140,000 South Australian homes—and is a key milestone in the state’s energy transition.

This role offers the opportunity to be site‑based and directly involved in the delivery of critical HV and LV electrical infrastructure within a multidisciplinary construction environment. As an Electrical Site Engineer, you will support the engineering and supervisory team to ensure the safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of electrical works on site. You will play a key role in coordinating construction activities, managing documentation, supporting commercial processes and ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of HV/LV electrical packages including substations, overhead lines, transformers and switch rooms to programme, quality and safety targets
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of design drawings, specifications and site installation requirements across substation and transmission infrastructure
  • Coordinate installation of HV/LV equipment, transformers, switchgear, protection systems and associated cabling
  • Monitor construction progress across substation builds and overhead line works, supporting programme tracking and reporting
  • Coordinate procurement of long-lead electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, OHL materials) to align with construction sequencing
  • Assist in management of subcontractors delivering substation, overhead line and electrical installation scopes
  • Support assessment and management of variations, extensions of time and delay impacts across electrical works
  • Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, ITPs and quality documentation for electrical installations
  • Drive coordination between civil, structural and electrical teams for substation builds, foundations, earthing systems and underground services
  • Ensure compliance with project, client and regulatory requirements for HV infrastructure and energisation readiness

The successful candidate will be a self‑starter with:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience as a Site Engineer or Graduate/Junior Engineer within civil or infrastructure construction
  • Exposure to bulk earthworks, concrete, road construction or similar scopes (renewables experience highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of site-based delivery and construction sequencing
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach and strong commitment to safety
