About the role

We’re looking for a Structures Project Engineer to join BMD on the Gateway to Bruce Upgrade in North Brisbane.

Delivered as part of the Gateway Connect Joint Venture with CPB Contractors and Georgiou, this major project will improve safety, reduce congestion and increase capacity through motorway upgrades, new roads and bridges.

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of key structural works, working closely with subcontractors and stakeholders to drive safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes. You’ll also gain strong exposure to contract management, procurement and end-to-end project delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of quality, safety and environmental management plans
  • Manage contract administration, including claims, variations and cost tracking
  • Prepare and review progress claims, valuations and reporting
  • Monitor project programmes and assist in maintaining delivery timelines
  • Coordinate subcontractor and supplier engagement, including procurement and agreements
  • Liaise with clients, field supervisors and key stakeholders
  • Support tender activities by assisting with documentation and project inputs
  • Monitor project performance and report on key issues to the Senior Project Engineer & Project Manager
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support the development of junior team members

 

About you

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience as a Project Engineer within construction or infrastructure with exposure to structures 
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial project delivery
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Sound leadership capability with a collaborative approach
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and environmental standards
  • Ability to work full project hours - Site based role
