Where does the role fit in?

This service sits within our Support division in the Bridgend area. The service works with a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds, some of whom may have experienced trauma and complex needs. Kerrigan consists of a 9 bed unit with an additional 2 move on properties in the Maesteg and Porthcawl area. We engage with the people we support through positive meaningful activities and provide a Psychologically Informed Environment. 

What is great about this role?

The role will be varied and involve managing a team of colleagues to deliver a quality housing support service to vulnerable people over the age of 18 who are experiencing homelessness.

You will be involved in building a reputation for excellence through partnership working, service improvement and developing and motivating your team.

You will manage a team of support staff including, Project Workers and Scheme Support Officers where you will inspire, challenge and manage your team to improve performance and outcomes for people who use our services. You will also be responsible for staff’s wellbeing, coaching, mentoring and supervision as well as enable the people who access our services to lead successful and independent lives.

You will work with talented and experienced people whose passion is to support our clients.

You will also:

  • Oversee the running of the service including health and safety, on-going maintenance and neighbour relationships.
  • Be responsible for the annual budget and monitoring the service’s income
  • Ensure that advice is given on welfare rights, permanent housing options and other associated information according to the needs and wishes of the clients.
  • Ensure that clients receive resettlement advice as and when appropriate to address their move-on needs.
  • Monitor the service and produce and amend procedures as appropriate
  • Build relationships and liaise with local neighbourhoods, businesses, commissioners, and council

Who are we looking for?

You will have had previous experience in a support environment and have a good understanding of leadership and management.

In addition you will be able to demonstrate the ability to;

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
  • Produce concise, accurate written reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with customers, staff and community partners
  • Knowledge of homelessness issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Psychological Environment framework

It is essential for the successful candidate to have a full drivers licence & access to a vehicle.

What are the pay and benefits? 

  • Full-time, Permanent position
  • Competitive salary of £31,182.00
  • Work pattern: predominantly Monday – Friday 9-5 although flexibility is required due to the needs of the service
  • An enhanced DBS is required for this role which we will pay for
  • 26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
