What is great about the role?
Our fantastic team provide a 24-hour temporary housing support in the Swansea area for young people aged between 16 and 21 years old. At Cam Nesaf, we also provide advice and guidance on training, education and employment.
We support young people to develop independent living skills to enable them to move onto independent sustainable accommodation. This an exciting time to join us with the development of our youth provision.
What skills and experience do you need?
The role will be varied and involve providing support to external organisations to identify young people at risk and provide information and support to better their lives and make positive choices.
Duties include:
- Work with people to truly make a difference in their life
- Carry a caseload of clients with a variety of differing needs and levels of need, depending on their situation.
- Provide housing related support to enable clients to take on and/or sustain a tenancy to prevent homelessness.
- To liaise and work closely with other agencies and professionals with regard to clients’ support needs.eg. Social Services, NPT Gateway, Landlords and Lettings Agencies etc.
- Offer appropriate levels of support in a sensitive manner, taking into account the emotional and intellectual needs of the client, respecting their choice and privacy.
You need to be reliable because people are depending on you. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.
It is essential for the successful candidate to have a full drivers licence and access to a vehicle.
