As our Group Risk and Assurance Officer, you’ll support how we manage risk, policy, and business continuity across the organisation. You’ll be involved in meaningful work, including:
- Leading quarterly risk and assurance reviews
- Working with leaders across the business
- Testing internal controls and making improvement recommendations
- Supporting and developing the Risk and Assurance Assistant
- Helping colleagues feel confident and informed around risk and assurance

Where does this role fit in?
You’ll be part of our Legal and Governance team, reporting to the Head of Group Governance, Risk and Assurance. Your work will support all areas of the Pobl Group by:
- Coordinating with senior managers to identify and manage key risks
- Ensuring we follow strong risk, assurance, and policy practices
- Helping the organisation plan for unexpected situations through effective business continuity plans
You’ll also line manage the Risk and Assurance Assistant, helping them grow and succeed in their role.
What skills and experience do you need?
You’ll need experience in risk, audit, compliance or assurance, with the ability to analyse information and write clear reports.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is organised, objective and confident working with others
- Has strong communication and time management skills
- Can work flexibly across teams and systems
- Understands risk management and regulatory frameworks
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Knowledge of housing, care or support sectors
- Experience with business continuity planning
- A risk management qualification (e.g. CRMA)
You should also have a good general education (GCSEs or equivalent) and be comfortable using Microsoft Office.
What are the pay and benefits?
- £41,859 for a 37 hour, Full time, permanent opportunity
- Flexible working policies – This role will involve working from home, our head offices, either Newport, Cardiff or Swansea and visiting our other sites which are across South Wales.
- You will benefit from mileage expenses at 45p per mile as per Pobl’s policy.
