About the role
This is a Floating Support Worker role based in our Generic Floating Support Service, Blaenau Gwent. The team provide tenancy related support to individuals with the aim to reduce the risk of homelessness and manage tenancies.
You will provide support to a range of individuals with varying needs, this can include challenging behaviour, mental health issues, learning difficulties, substance misuse. Through guidance and support, you will provide housing related support to equip our customers with the knowledge, skills and tools that they need to be able to live independent lives.
Skills and Experience Needed
- Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential.
- A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for the role.
- A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
- An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
- Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
- Knowledge of housing related support, benefits system
