About the role

Working as part of a team, you will provide housing-related support to equip our young people with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to live independent lives. You will also provide opportunities that build their confidence in accessing services, education, and gaining the skills and knowledge needed to prepare for their transition into adolescence.  This is a challenging role, you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including substance misuse, mental health and offending behaviour. You will have the skills to adapt your approach to engage with the young people to ensure that they feels heard and supported.

Day to day duties:

  • Shift lead and oversee of the Scheme Support officers
  • Engaging and interacting with our young people
  • Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
  • Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
  • Liaising with external agencies
  • Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have

Skills and Experience Needed

  • Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people
  • A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
  • A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
  • Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
  • Ability to write support plans and risk assessments based on the individuals needs.
  • Hold a driving licence and have access to a car
