Head of Finance and Controlling EMEA

Job Purpose: 

To be responsible for leading the finance, IT and customs team to ensure the management, monitoring and reporting on financial performance in the EMEA region in accordance with regional strategy. Responsible for leading across the functions in the EMEA to ensure alignment on financial targets and strategic commercial growth as well compliance with legal entity financial requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manages a department of up to 5 people
  • Sole responsibility and accountability for leading the ongoing strategic commercial growth in the region from the finance perspective
  • Collaborates closely with all functions within the business and is the key link to the UK head office for monitoring and reporting
  • Ensures adequate return on capital investment to support company objectives
  • Responsible for legal entity financial matters (e.g. accounting, controlling, tax, customs) and financial governance
  • Major supporter to leadership team to ensure business compliance within the region in line with corporate or legislative change
  • Work closely with the Regional President to create detailed financial budgets and business plan inputs, ensuring business targets at met
  • Monitors, tracks and reports regional profitability versus budget/forecast through the production of monthly management accounting information
  • Develops and manages financial reporting activities in support of regional operations within the EU region including tracking and reporting of regional and dealer KPI’s as required by Regional President and AML Operating Committee /management
  • Work closely with and provides strong independent advice to regional operations management to ensure good, financially sound business decisions are made.
  • Management of accounting and finance analyst, IT and customs
  • Delivers, manages and controls retail financing activities within the EU Region ensuring appropriate packages are available to drive increased sales vs. plan
  • Works closely with Finance and regional teams to develop cash and profit improvement plans to correct deviation to budgets, ensures all financial risks and opportunities are documented clearly and drives the delivery of opportunities and support risk mitigation activities
  • Supports month-end, quarter-end and annual accounts activities (finance close, forecasting, accruals, annual audit) for both internal and external reporting requirements
  • Provides decision financial evaluations and other ad hoc analysis
  • Works with finance strategy, planning and reporting function on robust target setting, business case analysis, sensitivity analysis and status reporting enabling data driven business decisions
  • Tax and compliance management (including transfer pricing, sales and local taxes with external support)
  • Leads and implements projects within the organization that relate to various aspects, not limited to finance, IT, customs and compliance

Essential Experience: 

  • Degree level or equivalent and Accounting Qualification e.g. CIMA or equivalent
  • Experience of business and financial analysis including the following discipline experiences; Sales and marketing, business profit analysis & budgeting, dealership financial management
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong people management, negotiation and influencing skills, capable at leading a collaborative approach to generate buy-in
  • Capable of making presentations with confidence and clarity
  • Ability to present complex information in a structured, logical manner

 

Grade: SM 

Please note: This role requires fluency in both written and spoken German.
