The Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) is uniquely placed to play a key role in all 6 pillars
Job Purpose:
The Lead Quality Controller - Outbound is responsible for all outbound parts quality operations within the PDC driving excellence in all aspects of part quality control function, customer satisfaction, management of critical KPIs and to manage, coach and motivate team to deliver best in class service. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy, quality and compliance of all outbound shipments, while continuously improving shipping processes to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role is critical to maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers and minimizing defects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Conduct regular inspections of outbound shipments to ensure compliance with company standards,
customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor packaging, labelling, and shipping documentation for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues related to outbound shipments, including damaged goods, incorrect
labelling, and non-conforming products.
Process Improvement:
• Analyse shipping workflows and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and overall quality.
• Develop and implement quality control processes and checklists for outbound shipments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Ownership of Outbound Parts Quality Committee meeting, KPI’s and data analysis
• Maintain records of quality checks, non-conformance issues and resolutions.
• Analyse trends in shipping errors and present recommendations for process enhancements.
• Generate and deliver regular quality performance reports to management.
Team Collaboration and Training:
• Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure understanding of quality requirements and best practices.
• Train shipping and warehouse team on quality standards, packaging methods and safety procedures.
• Act as a liaison between the warehouse, customer service and logistics teams to address shipping quality
concerns
Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure outbound operations comply with applicable industry regulations • Participate in safety audits and recommend measures to enhance workplace safety during outbound operations
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
▪ Automotive parts and component quality experience essential
▪ Experience in a quality assurance role within a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
▪ High caliber interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across the business
▪ Good understanding of a commercial organization and business processes
▪ Experience of management of a fast paced, quality operation
▪ Experience & knowledge of the after sales environment
▪ Strong and proven business acumen skills, & proficient with business data and performance metrics
▪ Experience in leading transformation in relevant sector
▪ Knowledge of shipping processes, packaging standards, and regulatory compliance.
▪ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
▪ Proficiency in data analysis tools and warehouse management systems (WMS).
▪ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
▪ Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications preferred
Preferred:
- Known Consignor working knowledge with commitment to train and qualify is essential
- OEM headquarter office experience
- Premium/Luxury automotive experience
- ERP implementation experience
- Educated to Degree level
