Global Test & Validation Lead - Infotainment

Department Overview: 

The Electrical R&D department is responsible for all future electrical systems research, and the development, delivery and validation of electrical components for all Aston Martin and Lagonda core vehicles

Job Purpose: 

To own and be responsible for system validation for all infotainment components in all key markets.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support system test team for infotainment and automation for multiple programs/projects.
  • Collaborate with other test team, feature owners, component owners and cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize test planning, execution for various internal and external milestones.
  • Collaborate and develop a team of high-performance automation engineers utilizing best practices and tools.
  • Perform all necessary vehicle testing (hardware and functional) to guarantee product acceptance for mass production
  • Support and plan test strategy, test drives across key/critical markets (inc. preparing vehicles to enable vehicle testing)
  • Coordinate & raise travel requests on time to enable global validations campaigns.
  • Write all necessary reports, presentations, or technical documents to explain and/or make a record of the development activities
  • Research and improve test capability and methods of the infotainment team overtime.
  • Teach and mentor other validation members to further enable global testing.

Experience and Qualifications

  •  CAN tools – CANoE
  • Understanding of LIN/CAN/Automotive Ethernet
  • Understanding of electronics/software and hardware design & EDS
  • Automation toolsets, framework and programming  – Eg: NI Teststand, Python etc.
  • Data analysis & report writing
  • Experience in delivering Infotainment modules.
  • Experience of vehicle level system integration in terms of hardware and Software). Experience of software development processes and managing software delivery.
  • Experience of validating infotainment systems, Navigation, Bluetooth and Media devices, Tuner and Infotainment HMI. Delivery experience on Infotainment OS system (windows, Linux, QNX, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive development systems and test framework.
  • Supplier management experience desirable
  • Complete knowledge of Product Development cycle from concept to launch completion
  • Knowledge of automotive quality tools and processes.
  • Electrical engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent degree

  • Competent in infotainment Validation & Automation
  • Competent in Confluence and JIRA toolset
  • Competent in Microsoft Office toolset.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels
  • Confident presenter
  • Microsoft project experience is desirable
  • Strategic thinking
  • Must be able to project manage and work collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
  • Knowledge of Can and CAN based tools
