Chief Product Engineer - Strategy and Concept

Apply now Job no: 511846
Work type: Full Time - Permanent
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Categories: Business Transformation

At Aston Martin, every extraordinary vehicle begins long before the first design sketch is drawn or the first prototype is built. It starts with a vision.

We're looking for a Chief Product Engineer-Strategy & Concept to help define the future of Aston Martin's product portfolio and play a key role in shaping the next generation of vehicles that will inspire customers around the world. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the heart of the business, working within the CEO function and influencing some of the most important strategic decisions the company makes.

This role sits at the point where product strategy, commercial performance and engineering excellence come together. You'll be responsible for both developing and streamlining the process and also leading the concept development that takes vehicle concepts from their earliest stages and transforms them into compelling, deliverable programmes that align with both customer expectations and Aston Martin's long-term business goals.

Working across engineering, finance, commercial, programme management and executive leadership teams, you'll develop the balance between product content, customer appeal, technical feasibility and financial performance. You'll help define programme targets, guide concept development and ensure vehicle propositions are robust, exciting and commercially successful before being handed into delivery teams.

As one of the key voices in the product creation process, you'll bring together diverse viewpoints, influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex decisions where priorities can often compete. Your ability to understand the bigger picture whilst remaining focused on the detail will be essential, as you'll be responsible for ensuring alignment across the business and driving programmes towards successful outcomes.

This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable discussing vehicle attributes and engineering requirements as they are reviewing investment levels, financial targets and business plans. You'll be a natural leader who can simplify complex information, challenge constructively, build consensus and help guide strategic decisions at the highest levels of the organisation. Regular engagement with senior leaders and executive stakeholders will form a key part of the position, giving you the opportunity to directly influence the future direction of Aston Martin.

We're looking for an experienced automotive professional with a strong background in vehicle programmes, product development, strategy or vehicle line leadership. You'll have a proven track record of leading within matrix organisations, influencing across functions and successfully delivering complex programmes. You will understand how concept decisions impact downstream development activities and have the commercial awareness to balance business objectives with customer and engineering requirements. A STEM degree is essential, alongside outstanding communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

This is an opportunity to influence the products that define Aston Martin's future and become a driving force behind the creation of the next generation of luxury performance vehicles. For the right individual, it offers exceptional visibility, strategic influence and the chance to leave a lasting mark on one of the world's most iconic automotive brands.
