About the Opportunity
To enable the delivery of high-quality, transformative educational experiences, you will lead curriculum design, academic workforce planning, and performance optimisation across the Health portfolio at the University of Tasmania.
With a systems-level view, you will champion student success, financial sustainability, and innovation across our course offerings. You’ll collaborate with academic units, central learning and teaching teams, and industry partners to embed contemporary health education practices and drive system-wide change. Your leadership will support the development of a workforce grounded in primary and preventative health, contributing to broader University goals in sustainability, health, education, and productivity.
What’s Required
We’re looking for a dynamic academic with a strong record in learning and teaching, strategic leadership, and the ability to influence and inspire across diverse stakeholder groups. You will bring to the role:
Academic experience and qualifications commensurate with the academic level, with a substantial record of learning and teaching expertise and academic and professional achievement in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience in academic management and leadership and driving high performance outcomes and setting strategy.
Experience in driving and promoting high quality learning and teaching outcomes with capacity to enhance the teaching standing of Health.
Proven ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate to deliver sustainable change within a diverse academic organisation.
Positive and constructive influencing and relationship development capability across a variety of internal and external stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated knowledge of Learning and Teaching priorities relevant to UTAS Health and its external competitive, disciplinary and partnership environment, and the capacity to think strategically and act tactically to build Learning and Teaching excellence based on University priorities.
Ability to assemble, support and lead cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral teams including identifying and bringing together excellent and emerging talent, internally and externally.
Demonstrated knowledge of the policy and legislative frameworks relevant to learning and teaching in the higher education sector.
