About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Executive Officer within IT Services which is in the Division of Student Services and Operations. The Senior Executive Officer will provide executive support to the Chief Information Officer, Information Technology Services (ITS) across a range of operational and project related activities, encompassing elements of the financial, human resource, technology, policy, and planning domains, applicable to a large University section.
The Senior Executive Officer will also be tasked with undertaking research projects that will inform tactical and strategic planning around innovation and business improvement.
What you’ll do:
Provide executive support to the Chief Information Officer, IT Services by providing expert advice on, and where appropriate. Prepare, memoranda; administrative, financial, technical, or risk management reports; for publication internal or external to the University.
Prepare management information and reports relating to the operations of ICT at the University, in areas such as compliance with University policy, procedures and ordinances; benchmarking of services; and internal/external audit implications.
Provide executive support over the financial operations of IT Services’ business services, including oversight of operating and central University ICT budgets, cost recovery activities, purchasing practices and financial policy compliance.
Conduct research and prepare reports to inform tactical and strategic planning on matters relating to innovation and business improvement.
Coordinate development of operational and strategic planning exercises and outcomes that are aligned with overall University objectives and plans.
Coordinate change management activities associated with changes in policy, operations or strategy.
Manage nominated projects relating to IT business processes ensuring compliance with the recognised University project methodology.
What we’re looking for:
A degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant work experience or extensive experience and relevant management expertise or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience in business and administration management.
Demonstrated expert communication and interpersonal skills and ability to perform a diverse range of broad and detailed tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Expert skills in the use of financial and administration desktop software applications, including word processing, spreadsheet and database computer packages.
Demonstrated high-level organisational and planning skills including the ability to meet deadlines and to work effectively under pressure.
Demonstrated high-level ability to liaise and interact effectively with a wide range of people and the ability to work as a committed team player.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
