About the opportunity

The Manager Student Administration is a member of the Student Services leadership team. The role is responsible for the effective operation of student administration to support the activities of our students. This includes services such as fees, Open Universities Australia (OUA), results and progressions and graduations. The role collaborates across the University, requiring strong relationships with other areas to ensure integrated service delivery that supports student success.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage administration resources to improve the efficiency, consistency, connectedness of processes and the overall student experience.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships across the University to understand current and emerging needs in student administration, acting as the key conduit between stakeholders.
  • Contribute to institutional strategies and drive operational performance, quality and service excellence related to student administration,working in close collaboration with Academic Units and Divisional teams to ensure strategic alignment, efficient service delivery and policy/compliance adherence.
  • Identify, implement and review projects that improve student administration processes, aligning with university initiatives while ensuring operational requirements are met.
  • Ensure student administration processes comply with legislation, University ordinances, and policies.

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree-level qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, training and experience in customer support or project management in a complex organisation, preferably higher education.
  • Ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement in customer-facing services and proven experience in planning and managing operations in a complex system environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving ability with the capacity to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams and cultivating a collaborative, student-focused culture and high-level verbal and written communication skills with a focus on multi-disciplinary team environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including discretion, tact, and the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 9 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $160,613 comprising base salary within the range of $130,242 to $137,276 plus 17% superannuation.
