About the opportunity

The Team Leader, Hobart Clinical School, is responsible for managing a small team of professional staff to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of outcomes for years 3-5 of the Medicine Program both at a local level and in partnership with the other clinical schools across the State.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, supervise and direct a team to deliver efficient and high-quality administrative services, ensuring effective target setting, performance management, coaching, and staff development.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships across the Hobart Clinical School, the wider Tasmanian School of Medicine, and relevant University stakeholders.
  • Advise staff, students and clinicians about relevant University and School policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage key operational aspects of local program delivery including recruitment, budget monitoring, space, infrastructure, safety and compliance to meet program outcomes.
  • Actively participate in working groups, forums and other School of Medicine led activities that contribute to the successful deployment of the Medicine Program at a statewide level.

­What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor and motivate others to work efficiently, effectively and co-operatively.
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal skills and the ability to understand client needs and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated organisational and prioritisation skills and the ability to perform tasks with accuracy, attention to detail and under minimum supervision.
  • Competence in the use of a range of computer software applications, including word-processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software and email.
  • Ability to identify and implement improvements in work methods and the working environment.

 Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
