About the opportunity
Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the Children’s University Tasmania program, based at the Peter Underwood Centre. This role involves coordinating and collaborating with a diverse network of stakeholders across schools, communities, and the University.
What you’ll do:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, Learning Destination organisations, the Peter Underwood Centre, University colleagues, and external stakeholders to deliver the Children’s University Tasmania program.
Apply specialist knowledge and independent judgement to foster children focused, best practice program delivery, influence policy and lead initiatives that improve educational outcomes and drive meaningful change across Tasmania.
Lead and coordinate delivery of key Children’s University Tasmania activities, including graduation ceremonies and communications planning, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and manage a volunteer program that supports child-focused, safe, and participatory program delivery, in partnership with Peter Underwood leadership and University experts.
Provide strategic leadership and reporting, including preparing business cases, program designs, and impact reports to support funding proposals and initiatives.
What we’re looking for:
Strong organisational and project management skills, with proven ability to manage competing demands, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing work priorities.
Successful experience in implementing innovative programs within school or community settings and a good understanding of factors affecting educational success and attainment in Tasmania.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of building effective and respectful relationships and managing staff (particularly in geographically dispersed locations).
Proficient in written communication, including preparing reports, business cases, and project plans, alongside demonstrated budget management capabilities.
Competence using Microsoft Office, records management systems, databases, and social media for promotion and engagement.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $152,033 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $114,282 to $129,943 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
