About the opportunity
The Project Officer will carry out a full range of administrative and project coordination tasks supporting the research, education and communication activities of the Australian Centre for Excellence in Antarctic Science (ACEAS). Strong administrative, coordination and communication skills are essential in the role to ensure effective working arrangements and relationships are established and maintained across the operational areas of the Centre and with partner organisations.
What you’ll do:
Provide high-level administrative advice and assistance in the management and coordination of the Centre’s research activities and operations.
Prepare centre activity reports and other correspondence, presentations and documents as required.
Contribute to financial operations and reporting, including transactions, budgeting, and analysis.
Act as the main liaison point for internal and external stakeholders of the Centre.
Organise events including social gatherings and research and training themed workshops.
What we’re looking for:
Extensive experience in a complex administrative field, including high-level competence in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
Excellent project administration and coordination skills, with accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
Experience working effectively with minimal supervision and as a member of a team.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and sound judgement.
Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure, while maintaining confidentiality, impartiality, and discretion.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105,665 comprising base salary within the range of $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation.
