Senior Lecturer (Nurse Practitioner)

About the opportunity:

As an Endorsed Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in nursing education, this senior leadership position will contribute to the educational preparation of postgraduate and undergraduate nursing. A key focus of this position is the development and leadership of the Nurse Practitioner curriculum aimed at expanding Tasmania’s and Australia’s Nurse Practitioner workforce. This position also involves health services research and/or innovation in learning and teaching to improve the health outcomes of Tasmanians. You will assist in developing a positive culture that enables high levels of collaboration and productivity to support the vision of the University to deliver Masters level education and research with high impacts for Tasmania. Relocation costs may be considered for the ideal candidate.

 What you’ll do:

  • Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
  • Provide leadership within the School of Nursing in developing and delivering a high-quality Nurse Practitioner Masters level curriculum.
  • Deliver high-quality scholarly teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate coursework.
  • Undertake high-quality research of national and increasingly international standing, secure external competitive and other funding, publish research findings and contribute to the successful supervision of research higher degree students to meet and regularly exceed the University’s research performance expectations for Level C Balanced (PhD applicant) or Teaching Intensive (Masters applicant) depending on qualifications.

What we’re looking for:

  • A good record of, and continuing commitment to, research that has made worthwhile contributions to the field of nursing.
  • Experience in University-level teaching and learning, especially in areas related to Nurse Practitioner curricula. 
  • A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive partnerships locally and nationally.
  • Clinical experience and currency relevant to the position.

Qualifications:

  • Endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • A PhD (preferred), or Masters in a relevant nursing health field.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People registration (or to be obtained).
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence or manual vehicle licence.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $178,024 pro-rata comprising base salary within the range of $133,981 to $152,157 pro-rata plus 17% superannuation.
