About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research (Menzies), University of Tasmania.

The Menzies Institute for Medical Research (Menzies), at the University of Tasmania, is one of Australia’s leading health and medical research institutes. Menzies exists to improve human health and wellbeing by performing excellent basic, clinical and population health research that focuses on the major diseases affecting the Tasmanian community. Taking a disease prevention approach, our research is aimed at improving patient care and clinical outcomes for the community by translating knowledge and clinical actions.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan, coordinate and participate in all operational aspects national recruitment at participating sites.
  • Work with the Research Assistants/nurses at each site to maximise recruitment.
  • Manage the study data generated from the study sites including accurate and timely data coding and entry.
  • Support the development, coordination and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Develop and implement optimal lines of project communication between investigators, partners, and other stakeholders.­

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven skills and experience in coordinating clinical trials and/or research studies.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and use initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with a high attention to detail.
  • Practical experience with a range of computer software packages, including word processing, spreadsheet and database software. 

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
