About the Opportunity
As a Lecturer in Health Sociology you will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to deliver programs and teach students attending University of Tasmania campuses located in Launceston, Hobart, Burnie, and Sydney. This position is a teaching-intensive academic role with a particular focus on embedding cultural safety into the learning content within our contributions to the University’s nursing and allied health curriculum. The position will require success in teaching, research and service, with a research allocation designed to contribute to the School’s record of research excellence and impact in health sociology.

What’s Required
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant social science field.
- A demonstrated record of, and continuing commitment to, research in the field of health sociology.
- Experience in University-level teaching and learning across different delivery modes, including online and face-to-face.
- Teaching and/or research experience in cultural safety.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate effectively and thoughtfully to students and staff from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
- A proven ability to work effectively independently and as part of discipline-based and multi-disciplinary teams.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a remuneration package of up to $155,885 comprising of a base salary within the range of $114,766 to $133,235 plus 17% superannuation.
