Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor Equine Surgery

The role

• Continuing, Full Time
• Level B/C/D - AUD$110,525 to AUD$178,876 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
• Additional clinical loading and remuneration for after-hours duties
• Wagga Wagga, NSW (relocation and migration assistance provided) 

We are currently seeking an outstanding equine surgeon and educator who will actively contribute to professional and academic leadership in the provision of high-quality equine surgery services at our Veterinary Clinical Centre in Wagga Wagga.

Working with senior equine medicine, theriogenology and equine surgery clinicians, anaesthetists and technical staff, you will be joining a team focused on delivering high-quality clinical services, teaching and research. You will be required to deliver teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students (residents) in both a clinical and didactic setting.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with a demonstrated commitment to upholding the University’s values and the advancement of the discipline of equine surgery and the veterinary profession.

The successful candidate will be appointed to either a teaching research or teaching professional work function. 

About you 

• Qualification relevant to the level being applied for, or equivalent accreditation and standing
• Eligibility for registration as a veterinarian with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW
• Board certification by the American and/or European College of Veterinary Surgeons and/or the Australian and NZ College of Veterinary Scientists or eligibility to sit board examination or equivalent
• A record of research/creative works or professional activity relevant to the discipline, and for level C and D applicants, academic achievement at a national and/or international standing
• Commitment to delivering high quality student centred learning, and for level C and D applicants, demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and/ or build people capability in an academic setting

About Us

The School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences provides more than twenty undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the Faculty of Science and Health. This includes Agricultural Science, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Equine Science, Environmental Science, Geospatial Science and Veterinary Science.
