The Role

  • Continuing, Full Time
  • Level B/C : AU$110,525 to AU$155,639 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Wagga Wagga, NSW

Contribute to the academic teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students, primarily in the Equine Science course, and as well as the research output of the School.

You will be delivering Equine Science teaching both on-campus and online, with compulsory intensive schools for online students required. You will also be developing and delivering contemporary evidence-based scientific subject material within the discipline. You will also demonstrate and model ethical horse handling.

As an Equine Science educator, you will also carry out teaching related quality assurance, contribute to continuing course review and undertake industry relevant equine science related research. You will also be expected to become an active member of the Equine Science team, collaborating with passionate colleagues to work towards the team’s vision of excellence in equine practice and to provide a lively, contemporary and engaging educational and working environment for students and staff.

This position requires a candidate with expertise in equine exercise physiology and equine health. Experience working with a wide range of horses and delivering high quality learning and teaching in equine health and/or equine physiology would be highly regarded. 

To be successful you will have:

  • Qualification relevant to the level being applied for, or equivalent accreditation and standing in Equine Science.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience within the equine industry, including the safe and sustainable handling of horses
  • Expertise in equine exercise physiology and equine health
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to delivering evidence based, student centred learning and teaching
  • A record of research/creative works or professional activity relevant to Equine Science and, for appointment at level C, works or activity at a national level.
