About this role
Grant Thornton Australia is looking for an Associate, Data Analytics to join our Financial Advisory team in Sydney.
As part of a newly formed team within our Financial Advisory practice, you will collaborate with other areas of the business, gather, extract and analyse data to help provide meaningful and actionable insights and recommendations for the firm’s clients.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an intellectually curious individual with a keen interest in data concepts looking for an entry into the data analytics space, This is a role in which you will continuously build autonomy whilst also receiving coaching and support from experienced team members. You will have direct interaction with senior leaders and other key stakeholders, enjoying a diverse workload and being involved in the ongoing strategy and development of this growing team.
While previous professional experience in data analytics would be advantageous, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data analysis tasks
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify data sources, gather relevant information, and perform ETL processes
- Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports using tools such as Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, or Python
- Learn how to provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data findings

- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interest in working with data-related principles
- Adaptable and dynamic approach to work, with ability to pivot between different projects and teams as needed
- Excellent communication skills, including interpreting requirements of diverse teams and adapting interpersonal style to different audiences
