Application are invited for appointment as Senior Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) in the Faculty of Engineering (Ref: 531719), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should have a good Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years’ solid administrative experience at supervisory level, preferably in higher education or a related sector. They should have an excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua), good organizational skills, problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, open-mindedness, communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently with initiative. In addition to being versatile in administration, project management, marketing, and networking, they should also be familiar with the contemporary trends of Hong Kong higher education and strong motivation to engage students.
The appointee is responsible for leading a medium-sized team to manage a wide range of administrative duties for taught postgraduate academic programmes. Functions include admission, curriculum development and student matters. Additional duties include establishing a brand-new student centre and strategically designing an enrichment scheme to enhance the student learning journey. The appointee may occasionally be required to work off-campus and outside normal office hours. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
