Research Assistant Professor/Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (2 posts)
The Department of Social Work and Social Administration is hiring a Research Assistant Professor in Geriatric Mental Health on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary.
We are looking for someone with (1) a PhD in mental health, social work, psychology, health economics, or other related disciplines; (2) strong teamwork skills; (3) good leadership skills; and (4) good time management. Applicants should possess experience in postdoctoral research and project management within the field of health-related research, as well as an excellent academic publication record. Additionally, they should possess high proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese.
The position offers an excellent opportunity for academic publications, building research partnerships with international researchers and local mental health service providers, and learning the implementation of a mega mental health research project. The appointee will co-lead a large research team comprising postdoctoral fellows and research support staff, alongside another RAP, the PM, and the Project PI. Those with less experience in publications and project management may be considered for the post of Postdoctoral Fellow.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. For more information, please contact Professor Lum at tlum@hku.hk.
The University only accepts online applications for the above post. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date CV with supporting documents, a cover letter stating their background, and three references for the post applied. Review of applications will start as soon as possible and continue until the deadline or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
