Manager/Assistant Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/Executive Officer) in  the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref: 531809) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree with at least 4-6 years’ supervisory work experience, preferably in tertiary education institutions. They should be competent communicators with an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). They should possess strong interpersonal, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, and be attentive to details. They should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, multi-tasking under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Preference will be given to candidates with solid experience in managing a similar set up of school/centre. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the appointment as Executive Officer.

The appointee will work closely with the Director and the management team to establish the newly founded School of Governance and Policy, oversee its overall operation, and support the implementation of strategic initiatives to achieve its mission. He/She will serve as a versatile administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support in areas such as human resources, financial management, committees secretarial duties, general office administration and performing other duties as assigned. He/She will also coordinate academic programmes, organise research and knowledge exchange activities, as well as liaise with collaborators and stakeholders. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and written test.
