Technical Manager / Assistant Technical Manager (multiple posts) in the School of Innovation (Ref.: 531831) to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants for the Technical Manager role should possess a relevant bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years’ relevant work experience, OR a higher diploma or equivalent plus 8 years’ relevant work experience. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Technical Manager. Applicants should demonstrate extensive technical experience specializing in 2 or more areas spanning robotics, electronics, mechanical systems, embedded systems, cloud-edge computing infrastructure, creative design, digital arts, generative AI tools, modelling software, wet lab experiments, or any other project creation skills. They should possess good experience in designing and creating mechatronic products, contraptions, prototypes or crafts. They should also possess experience operating and maintaining prototyping machines including 3D printers, laser cutters, electronic stations, etc. They should also be self-initiative, be able to work independently, and have a good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
The appointees will be responsible for managing and maintaining the prototyping workshop of the School, supporting teachers and students in the teaching, research and prototyping activities of the project courses, leading hands-on workshops related to the prototyping in the School workshop, assisting students in developing their innovation projects, and providing technical supports for the daily operation of the School.
