Full-time Research Assistant II in the Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 531856) (to commence as soon as possible for one-year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, in psychology, preferably with previous work experience in clinical or health related research projects and proficiency in statistical programming (e.g. R preferably, and SPSS as well). They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), proficiency in statistical knowledge, a strong commitment to high quality research, good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize work and maintain a high level of effectiveness. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

The post provides a good opportunity for professional growth through close with Professor Heidi Lo in the mood team/ youth mental health clinic on projects which may involve experience sampling method, hands-on experience in clinical interview, sharpen diagnostic skills under psychiatric guidance, assist in interventions for mood, and/or mental health advocacy project in social media @deer.emo.hku. The appointee will have access to clinical notes, conduct interview, recruit persons living with mental disorders, and assist delivery of intervention in clinical population.  He/ She will also assist in data analysis, proposal development and collaborative meetings with psychology department, enhancing professional and communication skills. This is a full-time, onsite position. This position would be ideal for those who wish to gain research experience and clinical skills, exposure to both clinical and community, contribute to both innovative mental health promotion programs and academic research.
