Senior Research Assistant in the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences, School of Public Health (Ref.: 531869) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary term or a two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Science with at least 3 years of relevant laboratory work and administrative experience. They should have a good command of spoken English and excellent English writing skills; the ability to communicate in Putonghua; good computer knowledge including Chinese typing; good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; and the ability to work well in a team environment. Knowledge in chemical testing and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) testing would be an advantage.

The appointee will assist in projects related to chemical testing and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) testing. They will train staff and students in TCM purification techniques. The appointee will also provide administrative support to the research team, including communication with laboratories in Mainland China regarding research grant applications and administration, and undertake any other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed term contract will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
