Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 531883)

We are looking for a Senior Technical Officer (STO)/Technical Officer (TO) to join the Central Research Laboratories to provide technical support for the research activities of staff and students of the Faculty of Dentistry.

The Role

The appointee will provide a full spectrum of laboratory-based technical support. He/she will handle routine laboratory and clerical duties; assist in research activities and data analysis; and be responsible for evaluating and establishing new techniques and technologies as core services for researchers in the Faculty. 

Qualifications and Qualities

  • a Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry/Life Sciences or a related discipline, preferably with a Master degree;
  • not less than 4 years’ practical laboratory experience;
  • excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • a good team player with strong interpersonal skills who can collaborate with stakeholders of the Faculty; and
  • those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Technical Officer. 

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 or 3 years , to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
