Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 531890), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree preferably in biological sciences, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with experience and a proven track record in the following research fields, including cancer bioinformatics, cancer biology and/or cancer immunology; as well as cell/organoid culture, cellular/molecular biology, flow cytometry, animal studies, and cancer-related research work. Applicants should have good communication skills, be self-motivated, have the ability to multi-task with attention to detail, be organized and be able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. The applicant is also expected to help mentor more junior researchers and RPG students in the lab, as well as carrying out some teaching duties. The appointee will work under the supervision of Professor Stephanie Ma on research projects relating to cancer cell plasticity with a focus on cancer stemness and cancer immunology using hepatocellular carcinoma as a model system, that is part of a theme-based collaborative project.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
