Applications are invited for appointment as Teaching Assistants (2 posts) in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) (Ref.: 531891) to commence on July 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in journalism, communication or related fields, with at least 3 years of experience of proven professional and practical experience in media production or content creator.
The appointee will assist in the teaching of the following areas at undergraduate and postgraduate level: (1) generative AI in media applications; (2) camerawork and documentary production; (3) podcasting or (4) video news production. They will also contribute to student advising, course development and enrichment events. Experience in tertiary education will be a definite advantage.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
