Applications are invited for appointment as Project Assistant (at the rank of Clerk II) in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref: 531906), to commence as soon as possible from May to September 2025 on temporary basis, with the flexibility regarding full-time or part-time work arrangements.

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree with at least 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector;
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Good interpersonal, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong organisational and event management skills;
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation; and
  • Familiarity with video production tools and platforms is a plus. 

 

Responsibilities

The appointee should be highly organised, creative and with a strong sense of initiative and attention to detail. He/She will join the team of Social Innovation (SI) and Global Citizenship (GC) to support the planning, execution and evaluation of the SIGC Internship Video Competition. He/She will have an opportunity to foster student participation and contribute innovative ideas to inspire student engagement. The duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Promotion & Outreach: Assist in promoting the competition through social media, email campaigns, and website updates; create engaging promotional materials; and outreach to potential trainers and mentors.
  2. Workshops & Support: Liaise with the organising committee members for smooth collaboration and effective event execution; coordinate and facilitate workshops on storytelling and video editing; organise mentoring sessions; and provide ongoing support to the participants.  
  3. Student Engagement: Manage online platforms (e.g., WhatsApp/WeChat groups) for student interaction and progress sharing; and distribute incentives (e.g., vouchers, starter kits) to the participants. 
  4. Judging & Awards: Collect video submissions; coordinate the judging process; and assist in organising the awards presentation ceremony. 
  5. Feedback & Reporting: Collect feedback from the participants, mentors, and judges; draft project summaries and recommendations for improvement.
