Senior Laboratory Assistant / Laboratory Assistant (several posts) in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health (Ref.: 532030) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have completed Form 5 or above. Diploma or above in healthcare-related disciplines would be desirable but not a must. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin, which is a plus), as well as proficiency in Microsoft applications (especially Excel). They should be organized, responsible, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Experience in community-based research studies is highly preferred. Venipuncture skill is a plus. Those with more experience may be considered for appointment as senior laboratory assistant.
The appointees will assist in a range of ongoing community field studies on infectious disease epidemiology and/or vaccine trials. They will assist in participant recruitment and follow-up activities, handle blood and respiratory samples, answer study hotline enquires, provide administrative support and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
