IT Officer / IT Technician in the HKU Musketeers Foundation Institute of Data Science (Ref.: 532092) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Diploma or higher, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline, with at least 5 years of full-time work experience.
- Proficiency in web programming languages/tools such as Java, PHP, Python, MySQL, HTML5, CSS JavaScript, etc.;
- Proven experience in Linux/Windows OS, and application server administration;
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, common software;
- Experience in photography, photo editing, and/or video editing is a plus;
- Flexible, creative, passionate, willing to learn and self-motivated;
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and
- Strong sense of responsibility, great interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask in delivering satisfactory results within a tight timeframe both independently as well as a good team player are expected.
He/she will provide a wide spectrum of technical support to the Institute which is outlined below:
- Create, enhance, and manage web applications using front-end, back-end, and database tools;
- Offer technical guidance and support to resolve IT issues;
- Help configure and set up computer systems and related devices;
- Conduct training sessions on software usage and IT protocols;
- Oversee IT equipment inventory and maintenance;
- Uphold adherence to IT guidelines and security protocols; and
- Provide on-site IT assistance during events and after-hours support;
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and written test. Applicants with lower academic qualifications and less work experience will be considered for the position of IT Technician.
