Applications are invited for appointment as Part-time Teaching Assistant in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) (Ref.:532133) to commence on September 1, 2025 for four months, with possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The JMSC is seeking a dedicated and trained fact-checking journalist to support faculty in supervising Annie Lab (https://annielab.org), our fact-checking media outlet, and assist in teaching graduate-level courses on fact-checking. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising the operations of Annie Lab
• Support the teaching of relevant fact-checking courses at the graduate level.
• Contribute to a collaborative and innovative learning environment.

 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Solid understanding of the news and social media landscape
• Proficiency in digital verification tools and techniques
• Knowledge of other Asian languages and prior teaching experience are advantageous

Working Hours and Compensation

• The position requires 28 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling but relevant classes are held on Monday afternoons (or possibly evenings) and all day Wednesday in the 2025-26 academic year (first semester).
• Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, calculated on an hourly basis.
