Facilities Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Engineer) in the Maintenance and Operations Unit of the Estates Office (Ref.: 532181)
We are looking for a Facilities Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Engineer) to join the Estates Office.
The Role
The appointee will be responsible for day-to-day building maintenance, improvement works and alteration works in all aspects particularly academic and laboratory buildings; tendering process; site progress monitoring; supervision and liaison with contractors; follow-up on service agreements and certificates renewal; and communication with the user departments and internal teams as well as external consultants to ensure that works are executed in order with qualified services. He/she may be required to work shift, overtime and on public holidays subject to prior arrangement; and act as an emergency team coordinator outside office hours.

Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess a university degree in Building Services (Electrical & Mechanical), Building Surveying, Real Estate, Facilities Management, Property Management, Building Services or related disciplines; OR a relevant diploma with 5 years’ experience. Possession of a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent, is a must. Preference will be given to those holding a valid Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker (A or above). They should be proficient in using MS Office/AutoCAD, and have hands-on experience in using computer-aided facilities management system.

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
